So I’m driving along, minding my own business, when I turn a corner and see this:
That’s right. It’s a giant replica of one of the evil Daleks from the Dr. Who TV series.
It turns out this larger-than-life sci-fi villain was a float in the recent lighted parade in downtown Tulsa. It’s parked in front of the Fab Lab, a nonprofit design studio at the corner of Seventh and Lewis.
The great thing about Tulsa is that we have so many creative people around here that you never know what you’re going to find. Maybe you drive through a subdivision and find a dinosaur crashing through somebody’s back fence. Maybe you’re on the way to the dog park, and you pass a house that looks as if it came straight out of a Hanna-Barbera cartoon. Or maybe you turn a corner and find a character from your favorite British TV show blinking and twinkling on a chilly afternoon.
Words can’t really do justice to this town. You just have to experience it.
