We had an exciting time here at the Campbell last weekend as a lovely young lady named Gissel celebrated her quinceañera with us.
In Mexico and many other parts of Latin America, a girl’s 15th birthday signifies the transition from childhood to womanhood and is celebrated with a special party called a quinceañera. The quinceañera is a joyful rite of passage, similar to a French debutante ball or a Jewish bat mitzvah.
Gissel’s family and friends turned our event center into a magical place, with festive lighting, elegant tablescapes, and all sorts of wonderful food. Rather than tell you how beautiful it was, we’ll just show you:
These orbs of light were handmade from LEDs and lots of tissue paper. Suspended from the ceiling, they created an amazing effect.
Here are a few more lights, plus a view of the head table.
Some of the younger set took advantage of the dance floor, running and leaping and dancing in circles.
These pretty cookies probably helped boost the kids’ energy.
We liked this simple but attractive tablescape.
And here is the beautiful birthday girl. ¡Feliz cumpleaños, Gissel!
