Catch a flick on Route 66

This is the line for the Admiral Twin’s reopening, 45 minutes before the gates open. Channel 8′s team just had to drive down the sidewalk to get around all the cars and down to the gate to set up for their live feed, and with 26 minutes to go, the line behind us stretches back for blocks.

Every imaginable make, model, and age of vehicle is out here. It’s beautiful: People climbing out of their cars to take pictures, babies riding on their daddies’ shoulders, traffic slowing down to take a look.

Ladies and gentlemen, the spirit of Route 66 is alive and well in Tulsa. If you’ve never experienced it, do yourself a favor and make plans to come out soon and spend an unforgettable weekend celebrating the Mother Road in her hometown.

Catch a movie at the Admiral Twin, grab a chicken-fried steak at Tally’s, and end your day in the cool comfort of our gorgeous Route 66 Suite.

We’ll look forward to seeing you.
