As anyone who’s been here knows, a trip to The Campbell Hotel is a trip into the heart of Tulsa’s history. From our luxurious theme rooms to our location right on Route 66 in midtown — just across the street from Bama Pie, down the block from the University of Tulsa, and minutes from downtown, Brookside, and River Parks — we like to think we epitomize all that is right in our beloved city.
Watching the sun rise over the Tulsa skyline on the way to work, meeting travelers from around the world, turning brides’ fairy-tale dreams into elegant reality, basking in the soft blue glow of an old-fashioned neon sign as we tidy up the doorstep — it’s all just another day at the office for those of us fortunate enough to work here at the Campbell. We spend our days surrounded by beauty, elegance, and history. We’re lucky, and we know it.
This blog is our attempt to share some of that beauty, elegance, and history with anyone who could use a mini-vacation.
We’d love to see you in person. But if you can’t get to Tulsa just now, we understand. While you’re anticipating that weekend getaway or that much-needed Route 66 road trip, why not join us online for a five-minute escape into our past and your imagination every day?
Maybe we’ll show you an Oklahoma sunset from the window of the Gilcrease Skyline Room. Maybe we’ll introduce you to a longtime Tulsan who remembers riding his bike to the Max Campbell Building to buy nickel Cokes at the drugstore on the first floor when he was a little boy. Or maybe we’ll dig up some little-known fact about Tulsa’s history.
Check in with us online for a few minutes every day — and when you take that Oklahoma trip, check in with us on Route 66 here in Tulsa for an evening, a weekend, or more. We’re looking forward to meeting you.
